At the tender age of ten, he emigrated to the United States, where he briefly pursued his studies at Johnson & Wales University in Miami and honed his craft as an apprentice at the esteemed Bluemoon Fish Co. In 1999, motivated by familial connections, he relocated to Kansas, where he immersed himself in a rich tapestry of culinary traditions while working in various esteemed kitchens across the region. Chef Desauguste has held illustrious positions, including Room Chef at Journey Steakhouse in Argosy Casino and Executive Chef at Lakewood Country Club, in addition to accruing invaluable experience at prestigious establishments such as Marriott, Embassy Suites, and Hilton Hotels. He has proudly owned and operated Mesob Restaurant for the past fourteen years. His culinary prowess has garnered numerous accolades, including the 2017 Culinary Excellence Award from the National Black Chefs Association and the 2017 Chef of the Year from Greater Kansas City.
